Ils l’ont They have it Nous avons We have Nous l’avons. We have it. As mentioned above, indirect object pronouns are often used in French when we use ‘to him, her, etc’ in English. Here are a few examples: Indirect dire à  -  to say / tell Je dis I say Leur Them Je leur dis. I say to them. Vous disez You say Me To me Vous me disez. You say to me. Ils dissent They say Lui to him Ils lui dissent. They say to him. Nous disons We say Vous to you Nous vous disons. We tell you. donner à  -  to give someone Je donne I am giving Lui to him Un café A coffee Je lui donne un café. I’m giving him a coffee. Ils donnent They are giving Me to me Un orange An orange Ils me donnent un orange. They’re giving me an orange. Vous donnez You are giving Leur them Le vin the wine Vous leur donnez le vin. You give them the wine. Nous donnons We give Vous to you la bière the beer Nous vous donnons la bière. We give you the beer. Reminder Je voudrais du vin I would like some wine Je voudrais de la bière I would like some beer Je voudrais de l’eau I would like some water Je voudrais des boissons I would like some drinks Je voudrais un orangina I would like an orangina Je voudrais un coca I would like a coke C’est difficile It is difficult.
