But things didn’t go as smoothly as everyone hoped. And on August 26, 2021, a suicide bomber got close enough to the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, and killed roughly 200 people – including 13 U.S. military service members who were assisting at the checkpoint. This episode is a tribute to the Fallen 13 – 13 U.S. military members who gave their life protecting others. There were 11 Marines, 1 Navy Sailor, and 1 Army Soldier. Schmitz, 20, of St. Charles, Missouri.  Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum, 20, of Jackson, Wyoming.  Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Dylan R.
