Hello, my name is Dava Newman, and I'm a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley. I work in the field of artificial intelligence, and my research focuses on building computer models that can gain knowledge from experience. Recently, I've been working on a project called Testudo, which is a learning robot that uses a photocell to measure its surroundings. Testudo is able to learn by observing input samples, and its performance has been improving quickly. In this episode, we discuss Testudo's development, and I give you an overview of my research in artificial intelligence.
