037. "With sugar, pasta and bread, I always want more": Judy

Judy Wolfe describes herself as "a person of more". In other words, after that first bite, she always wants more.In this episode, Judy talks candidly about her journey to freedom from sugar, grains, starches, sweeteners, and alcohol. She's been living that freedom for 16 years, maintaining a 130 lb weight loss. How Judy eats can be perceived as restrictive by many, but as she says, it's freedom for her. She was always on a diet since she was young, and admits that she dieted her way to 288 lbs. With the help of specific food addiction programs, Judy knows now that she has to weigh and measure her food at every meal, even when she's out of the house. That's how she manages what she refers to as her disease. Judy tells the story of the "80-lb cheese curl", when one cheese curl sent her spiralling into her uncontrollable food addiction for 13 years and made her gain 80 lbs. What saves her now is the community she's part of. And the commitment to herself.I think Judy's story is so inspiring because it's her attitude that gives her power over her food addiction. She's not a victim of it, because she's learned how to manage it and live her life happily.Judy is a Certified Food Addiction Professional and one of the founders of SugarX Global.
