October 2, 2022 - After a 2.4-mile swim in the rough waters of the Mediterranean Sea followed by a 112-mile bike ride in what felt like 30 mph winds I got off my bike feeling ready to crush my marathon run with over 6 hours left on the clock. Next thing I know a race official came over to me and told me I missed the bike cut-off by 8 minutes. I was forced to stop racing - DISQUALIFIED. Here's what went down. Should’ve prepared better, should’ve trained harder, and should’ve biked faster. Even though this was not the outcome I flew halfway across the world for I’m feeling super grateful for many things. #1 Feeling extra grateful for my legs but feel even more gratitude for other opportunities to challenge me beyond my self-limiting beliefs.
