Lifting The Lid - Episode 55 - The one exploring movement’s relationship to learning

Lifting the Lid on Coaching Supervision - A podcast by Clare Norman & Steve Ridgley - Tuesdays

Categories:

Steve and Clare talk (and move) with Rowan Gray exploring movement in coaching and supervision. It seems that as children, we learned from our parents to sit down and stay still, when we were being energetic and hyper (eg, moving). So as adults, it can be hard to integrate movement into our practice as we have that parental voice still in our heads. But in this conversation, we talk about cycling coaching (a new one on us), walking coaching, learning about ourselves through movement such as hiking or swimming, movement such as yoga or dancing for resilience, movement that allows our body to think, the polarity of stillness and movement. Freeing our minds to think. This conversation was rich and left us wanting more, not to mention more movement. So now we are off to move! You can find Rowan at https://www.linkedin.com/in/rowan-gray-23b46522/ and his website/company is Made to Move. Rowan mentioned Rob Poynton’s book Do/Pause: You are Not a To Do List and his own article Using Movement to help us Pause
