Another opportunity to display the gift of faith.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 3:27 Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. The new law of God is faith. The Law of faith has excluded boasting because no one can perform what the Law requires. God requires faith in Christ for sinners to have a righteousness that satisfies Him. What is amazing is that God supplies what He requires. As we saw a few days ago, faith is a gift of God, not of works, so no one can boast. That makes salvation a gift of grace. That’s how God loves those who are useless. He provides what they cannot do. When He’s finished pouring out His love upon and in them, they become useful vessels of love for His glory. They live to love with Jesus. Not only does God provide the faith that He requires, He also, through the life of Christ applied by the Holy Spirit, God provides the love that He commands. Remember the new commandment? Love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34). He loved us with His Father. We love one another with Him. This is faith at work. Faith looks to Jesus for life and for the love that God requires us to show to others. It’s what we owe to all men. Such is the wonder and glory of grace. He fills us with His love so that He can continue to love His own til the end of the age. Today, we have another opportunity to display the faith God has given us in Jesus Christ through loving those He puts in our paths for His glory.
