Believers reign in life through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. In vs. 17, Paul continued his comparison of the affect and results of the deeds of Adam and Jesus. From the moment Adam sinned, death entered into the human experience and it has been king. In Adam, all die wrote Paul to the Corinthians. So death gained dominion over us through Adam. In contrast, as Paul exclaimed to the Corinthians in 1 Cor. 15:22, “In Christ all will be made alive.” Here Paul put it this way. Through Jesus Christ, all who receive and keep on receiving the abundant grace and the gift of righteousness will be kings in life. They will reign over sin and death! Let us be encouraged by this great and glorious truth: there is an abundance of grace available to live righteously. We need only to receive it as a gift through faith. The love we need today to glorify God comes as we abide in Jesus—as we live in Him and He in us. As we live to love with Jesus, we reign in life through Him.
