Faith, a glorious gift from God, the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. After declaring the good news of the gospel that God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world, John continued explaining the work of the Holy Spirit which He had just declared as the proof that one abides in God and He abides in Him. There are two evidences that the Holy Spirit, the presence of Christ, dwells in you. This verse focuses on faith and the next one on love. Lest we forget, I remind you of 1 John 3:23-24 which helps us see what was in John’s mind here. “This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” The Spirit of God testifies to the deity of Christ and His love and salvation by giving us faith in Jesus. The real or true believer in Christ Jesus confesses that Jesus is the Son of God. That confession of faith is a definite outcome that will happen as a result of hearing the gospel. It is the work of the Holy Spirit and thus the proof of salvation. A continuous, enduring faith reveals the reality that God abides in the believer and the believer abides, lives in, through, and by Him. Please sit with this reality and let it encourage your heart, inspire greater love and gratitude for God today. If you believe in Jesus, it’s because God dwells in you and you in Him. Let the love of God for you swell within your soul until you don’t think you can hold it in any longer. Then you are ready for God to put someone in your path so His love can gush out of your soul like a geyser for His glory. That is the essence of living to love with Jesus. Faith in Jesus, working through love for the glory of God.
