God freely gives His children all things.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Do you ever wonder if the grace you need to love is going to be there? This verse encourages us in those moments. We can count on God to give us everything we need to love with His Son. Remember yesterday’s encouragement? God is for us! In this verse, Paul reasoned with his readers. If God didn’t spare His own Son, then we can know He will withhold nothing for our highest good. For Jesus to be firstborn among many brethren, God gave His Son as our substitute. It pleased God to not spare His Son from His wrath against all of our sin so we could be justified and glorified. We can know that He will freely give to us all things. What does He mean by “all things?” Let’s stay true to the context. Paul had just told them that God causes “all things” to work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. That means there’s nothing that happens to us that God has not caused it to be for our good, namely, to become conformed to the image of His Son. “All things” therefore are freely given to us for that great and glorious purpose—for the glory of the Son in our lives. I’m reminded of Ps. 70:4. “Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified.’” We, who have received Christ Jesus, may confidently pray for God to be glorified in “all things” in our lives. We live to love with Jesus knowing that we can ask anything in His name, and He will do it (John 14:13-14). Live. Pray. Love. Hope. Rejoice. God is for us. He will freely give us “all things” that His name may be magnified. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
