I boast in God

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 5:11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Let’s take a few minutes today to “exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The previous verses rejoiced and gloried in what Jesus Christ has done in the past and will do in the future. We were reconciled to God through His death, and we will be saved from the wrath of God that His enemies deserve by His life. But this verse focuses on the present. We now, in this present time, today, exult—that is boast in and glory—in God through Jesus Christ. We have now received the reconciliation with God through Jesus, so here we stand! We stand in grace before God, reconciled and therefore at peace with Him because it pleased Him to justify us through His Son. So not only do we boast in Jesus, but we boast in God, who sent His Son so we might receive His Spirit and be filled with the love of God. His ever-present, all-powerful, sin-conquering, fear-removing, steadfast love should erupt like a volcano in us who believe. It’s meant to create a tsunami of divine love that sweeps over everyone He puts in our paths. Please join me in exulting/boasting in God’s great grace and love which you have received through the reconciliatory work of Jesus before moving on today to your agenda. This is His day. He has invited you into it so you might join Him in the glory of God. Father in heaven, I stand before You in the grace You have provided. Your steadfast love is amazing! It moves my heart and soul into the heavenlies to glory in You and find my satisfaction in You through Your Son, Jesus Christ. You are all I need! My soul unites with the Psalmist who boasted before You. “Whom have I in heaven but You, and there is none upon the earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail, but You are the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Today, glorify Your name by loving through me.” Amen.
