Jesus fulfills what the Law requires

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. God, in His love for us, has provided the righteousness of His Son for our justification before Him. In Christ, God completely justified Himself as well as all who believe in Jesus for their standing before God. Paul’s Jewish brethren failed to obtain righteousness because they pursued righteousness by trying to keep the Law of God. There is no end to man’s efforts to be righteous enough to please God or keep the Law. Paul wrote in Romans 3:20 “because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.” and in Romans 8:8 “and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” So how do we please God? How is a man justified before God? By the righteousness of Christ. He is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes—that’s trusts in His works instead of their own works. This truth frees us to live to love with Jesus. We don’t live in fear of not measuring up or not loving perfectly. We trust that Jesus loves us perfectly and is able to take the weakness of our flesh and by the power of the Holy Spirit make us fruitful for God for His glory and pleasure. It’s the life of Jesus shining through us that pleases God, not our efforts to live for Him so he’ll be pleased with us. God is pleased in His Son’s work because the Son glorifies Him as He works in all who believe. Today and everyday, let us believe Jesus’ righteousness is ours. His love is ours. His life is ours. His glory is ours. This is how we please God and bring Him glory. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
