Jesus is faithful!

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Hebrews 3:2 He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. In yesterday’s verse, the author called his readers to consider Jesus, so let’s do that today. Let’s notice that Jesus was appointed by God, which is what it means to be an apostle. God appointed Jesus to come to earth on mission to bring many sons to glory, and He has been faithful to His mission. The author compared Jesus to Moses because the Hebrews considered Moses as the most honored prophet sent by God in their history. He is going to show that the new covenant in Christ is superior to the old covenant given through Moses. In this verse he begins presenting the superiority of Jesus above Moses. We may be encouraged today by this: We have the privilege and blessing of sharing in the life and mission of Jesus Christ. God loved the world so He sent Jesus into the world to reveal His love and bring His people to Him. The author used the metaphor of God’s house or temple. Jesus is still faithfully carrying out His mission by loving through us! As we love with Him, He is displaying His faithfulness to His Father. Our confidence in living to love with Jesus is that we know that He is going to be faithful to give us whatever we need to love those He puts in our paths. God’s name depends on it! So our lives are an expression of Jesus’ apostleship. If we have Jesus living in us, we are partakers of His mission. That makes our lives significant and meaningful. It’s part of what it means to bring many sons to glory. We don’t just show up for the celebration, we exist for His glory. We live to love with Him for His glory, so we are going to share in His glory. Doesn’t that encourage you today? There is no higher purpose in life than to live to glorify God by living to love with Jesus.
