Jesus lives to God.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 6:9-10 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. There are some important things the Holy Spirit wants us to know and from which we can draw great encouragement today. First, in vs. 6, we know that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. Now in this verse, we know that the resurrected Christ is never to die again. Death no longer has authority over Him because He died to sin once for all. Therefore, the life that He now lives in us today, He lives to God, just like He always has. What an encouragement! We have the life of Jesus in us. He is not weighed down by our baggage—the lies we have believed and have identified with, the guilt and shame associated with our sins and failures, or the host of weaknesses that plague our flesh. We might be tired, but He isn’t. We might be afraid, but He isn’t. We might be dismayed with the current events, but He isn’t. We might feel inadequate to forgive, love, and endure, but He doesn’t feel that way. He lives in us, and He lives to God, meaning, He lives to love for the glory of God. That’s who you are! You are a son or daughter of the living God, with the righteous Son of God dwelling within your mortal body for the glory of God. So be encouraged. Act like who Jesus is in you. Walk as His disciple. Learn from His life. Watch Him respond to the events of the day and love the people God puts in your path, and be amazed at the privilege to live to love with Jesus.
