Jesus working through us.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 15:18-19 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. In these verses, we unpack more of what Paul meant in the previous verse where he boasted in the things pertaining to God which came to him in Christ. These verses encourage us that in Christ, we have everything we need to minister to those God puts in our paths. Like Paul, we must realize that all that is done in our lives to bring glory to God is done by Jesus Christ in us. Paul told the Galatians that it wasn’t he who lived, but Christ who lived in him (Gal. 2:20). He told the Corinthians that the only way to describe his ministry among the Gentiles was to say it was the grace of God working in him (1 Cor. 15:10). When we live to love with Jesus, we recognize that Jesus is accomplishing His ministry through us. We love with Him, and He bears the fruit in the lives of those He puts in our paths for the glory of the Father. When Paul considered the obedience of the Gentiles to the gospel—their words and deeds of faith, the power of signs and wonders operating in them by the power of the Holy Spirit—he knew they were God-things. The fruit of his ministry from Jerusalem to Illyricum (which is just north of Macedonia, the province in which Philippi and Thessolanica are located) was the work of Jesus with him. That will be the description of our lives and ministries when we stand before Jesus on Judgment Day. After the fire of God’s judgment burns through our lives, there will be nothing left to stand but the work of Jesus Christ in our lives. He was ministering and preaching with Jesus. That’s why I say we are living to love with Jesus. It’s another way of saying the same thing Paul. Today, be encouraged! Jesus Christ is accomplishing His ministry in us today as we share the things of God that He has given us and love in the power of the Holy Spirit.
