Let us boast in the Lord.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; In today’s verse, we learn that the Law of God speaks to all who are under the Law. In the next verse, it tells us what the Law speaks, but in this verse it tells us why God has given the Law a voice. It’s to silence all mankind who wishes to justify themselves before God. God has spoken through the Law and made everyone accountable to fulfill every law. As Paul has already asserted, every man agrees in his conscience that God is just to cause His wrath to fall upon every action that misses the mark of perfect righteousness. So what shall we say to this? Praise God for the gospel! The good news that God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. (Gal. 4:4-5). Listen carefully to what Paul wrote later in Romans 7:4 “Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.” The Law no longer has anything to say to us who are no longer under the Law. We are under the grace of God through Jesus Christ, our Lord, and savior. We have been given the righteousness of Christ through our union with Christ, and that’s by God’s doing. Listen again and be encouraged to live to love with Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:30 “But by His (that’s God’s) doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.” Not only are our mouths not silent, they are filled with words of praise, love, and boasting in the Lord. God loves us! He has given us His life, and called us to live to love with Him in this world. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
