Live to Love Scripture Encouragement Romans 8.26

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; Today we are encouraged with another ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Not only does all creation groan and we ourselves groan, but the Holy Spirit also groans in intercession for us. We are not alone in this blessed hope of the glory of God. The Holy Spirit has our perfected union with Jesus and the birth of the sons of God in view as He prays for us when we don’t know how to pray. Let’s take encouragement from this reminder of God’s assignment for the flesh—life in our mortal bodies. The body’s assignment is weakness. God never intended fruit for His glory to be born by our fleshly efforts, knowledge, or determination. Fruit for God was assigned to the Spirit of life in Christ, the Holy Spirit, dwelling within the sons of God. He is our helper, comforter, and here, we learn; He also is our intercessor. Remember what Paul taught the Corinthians? When we are weak, He is strong. Our part in the story of God’s glory is to provide the weakness for God to work with. Doesn’t this encourage you today as you think of loving those God puts in your path? The Live to Love prayer is a prayer of the weak ones—those who know they don’t have the knowledge and power they need to glorify God and love well. We can humbly and genuinely offer our weakness to God, knowing that He is looking to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully His (2 Chron. 16:9)—those who are seeking to find their supreme satisfaction in Jesus.
