Pray for those you want to see saved.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. After explaining how his Jewish brethren failed to obtain God’s righteousness because they sought for it according to their own works instead of through faith, Paul wanted his readers to know his own attitude toward them. He longed for their salvation, and prayed according to the desire God had placed in his heart. We may derive great encouragement from the apostle’s love for his brethren, many of whom were hostile to him just as he used to be to followers of Christ before he was saved. So he certainly knows what he’s praying for when he says he’s praying for their salvation. Paul’s desire and prayer didn’t come from Paul himself. They came from the life of Christ within him. Remember he had said that it was not he who lived, but Christ lived in Him. That’s in Gal. 2:20. He was expressing the heart of Jesus for His own people. My guess is that many of you who are listening know exactly what Paul felt for his brethren. You have people you love for whom you are praying. You know they have yet to see the glory of God revealed in His giving the righteousness of His Son as a free gift. They still want glory for themselves. May God stir our desire to see our friends and family members come to a saving, life-transforming, peace-producing, God-glorifying faith in Jesus Christ. I hope when this podcast finishes, you’ll take a few minutes and lift up a prayer for those you desire to see saved. I’ve heard it said, it’s the first and easiest thing we can do to love them. It certainly expresses what we mean when we say that we live to love with Jesus. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
