The fullness of the blessing of Christ

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 15:29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ. All believers in Jesus have the Spirit of life in Christ dwelling within them. Paul told the Romans in 8:9 “However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” In Ephesians 2:22, speaking of Jesus Christ the cornerstone, he wrote, “in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.” Let’s note the source of Paul’s confidence in life—the fullness of the blessing of Christ. I’m sure Paul had experienced the fullness of the blessing of Christ in his three missionary journeys, so he had learned to trust in the presence of Christ with him as he served Him. We also can have the same confidence in life, if we live to love with Jesus. We can know Jesus will bless our going and coming with His presence and power. He is with us! We can not only expect blessing, but we can expect fullness of blessing. We get this expectation from the Scriptures, Ephesians 3:14-21. Paul prayed… That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us through faith for the purpose of rooting us in the love of God, knowing His love in Christ, which fills us with the blessing of Christ on a daily basis. He will do far more abundantly beyond what we ask or think. That’s why Paul was and we can be assured of the fullness of the blessing of Christ as we love with Him. Be encouraged to walk in the fullness of the blessing of Christ as you live in His purpose of loving those God puts in your paths today.
