The word and love of God is still being fulfilled in our lives.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

Romans 9:26 “And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘you are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.” In these verses of Romans 9, from vs. 25-28, Paul shouts out to the Gentile believers in Rome (and to the rest of us who would not be considered God’s people because we are not of Jewish descent) that God had prophesied that the Israel of God would include them as well. Where is the place where it was said to the Gentiles that they were not God’s people? It seems reasonable to assume Paul had Jerusalem or the nation of Israel in mind. In his day, no Jew would consider a Gentile to be one of God’s people, unless they had been transformed by the grace of God and their eyes opened to see the scope of redemption accomplished by God through Jesus Christ. I’m sure there are some places where it would be said of everyone who isn’t of Jewish descent that they are not God’s people. As of the time of Paul’s letter to the Romans and even now, there are many Gentiles, (and I’m one of them) who are called sons and daughters of the living God. God has called us out to Himself by the Holy Spirit and we have the living God dwelling within our mortal bodies. We have experienced His love and have the witness of the Spirit crying out, “Abba, Father” in our hearts. We are the beloved of God. We have been justified by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. So today, let’s be encouraged to keep His love flowing through our lives to everyone God puts in our paths. He continues to pour out His love on those who would not be considered God’s people or beloved of God by the Jews. Isn’t it amazing that God’s word and love never fails? It is still being fulfilled today in our lives! Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com
