This is love…that He sent His Son to pay sin’s penalty.

Live to Love Scripture Encouragement - A podcast by Norm Wakefield

1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. In this verse, we learn how God’s love is manifested in us as we live through Jesus. Our love for God isn’t the main show that the world needs to see. It’s God’s love for sinners that the world needs to see. It’s not possible for God’s love to be manifested in sinners unless their sins are paid for and they are redeemed and restored into a right relationship with God. Notice what Paul wrote to the Ephesians in 4:32. “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Because we have been forgiven and have received God’s mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, we show His love to others. Our lives of love testify to God’s nature and love for His enemies, which we once were. This is the love of God manifested in us to the world as we live through Jesus. What a glorious privilege and hope we have to be vessels of His grace, mercy, and love. We want the world to see how glorious and wonderful God is. He is worthy to be made much of, and our prayer is that as we love with Jesus, many will be amazed at His love and drawn to Jesus through His love. May God glorify Himself as we make much of Jesus and live to love with Him today.
