Episode 166 - A Time of Conscious Descent

Living Myth - A podcast by Michael Meade - Wednesdays

This episode of Living Myth begins with issues raised by the spread of the coronavirus and leads to a consideration of the ancient, initiatory practice of katabasis or conscious descent to the inner world. At each turning point in life, we must face our deepest fears in order to grow. We are now at a collective turning point, where we must stop and listen to the body of humanity despite fears of the stock market crashing and in spite of the common belief that everything must keep expanding, so that we avoid a major descent. The willingness to stop and consciously descend can lead to a greater understanding of one's life and a deeper connection to both meaning and purpose.

Thank you for listening to and supporting this podcast.  As you may know, all Mosaic public events and workshops set for April, May and June have been postponed. We have made this difficult decision based on current guidelines from the CDC for dealing with the coronavirus. While public events are postponed, we intend to continue the creative work of Mosaic, including these free weekly episodes of the Living Myth Podcast.

Because proceeds from events and workshops represent a major form of support for all of Mosaic’s creative projects, we are asking you to please consider a donation to Mosaic to help us continue our creative efforts to use myth, story and imagination to find ways to heal, renew and restore both culture and nature.
