Avs Start Road Trip Off On Right Foot. Drop Montreal 8-4. Lehkonen Heads Home With Broken Finger

The Colorado Avalanche set the tone early, and while Montreal got a couple goals back late in the 3rd period, this one was well in hand as the Avs got game one of their road trip under their belt with a 8-4 win over the Canadiens. There wasn't much negative you could take away from the game, except another Avalanche injury. Artuuri Lehkonen, in his first game back in Montreal after being traded to the Avs, had two goals and an assist in less than 10 minutes of ice time. Why did he have less than 10 minutes of ice time you ask? Because his second goal he deflected off his hand which resulted in him breaking his finger. He is headed back home to Denver for surgery and will hopefully be ready for the playoffs.
