Does Talen Horton-Tucker Have a Clear Spot In the Lakers' Rotation? Plus, Don't Forget Kendrick Nunn!

Locked On Lakers - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Lakers - A podcast by Locked On Podcast Network, Andy and Brian Kamenetzky

We all know the Lakers are still working the phones, trying to improve the roster. Because, let's be honest here, this roster isn't currently good enough to win much of anything this season. But while we wait, it's reasonable to look at where things stand. What might a rotation look like? Who starts, who comes off the bench? Friend of the show Jovan Buha did just that over at The Athletic, and in doing so noted that Talen Horton-Tucker, L.A.'s fourth highest paid player, doesn't have a clear-and-easy space where he fits into a 10 man rotation. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong, but the problem Jovan notes (THT needs the ball in his hands, needs shooting around him, and so on) are things others have seen as well. And it's a function of building a team out of scraps the rest of the league doesn't prioritize. Beggars can't be choosers. So how do they fix it? And more broadly, how many players in this rotation have to exceed expectations for the Lakers to make real noise in the West? One guy who could help? Kendrick Nunn. Who is so forgotten that during an ESPN Summer League broadcast laying out a potential Lakers rotation... they didn't even remember to put him on the roster. Like, total erasure. But he's a guy who could push the Lakers towards places most observers areas skeptical they can go. Not all the way there, obviously, but a push. It's one they really, really need. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: When you see it written down, the potential rotation for the Lakers looks... uninspiring. SEGMENT 2: Is there anywhere Talen Horton-Tucker really fits with this group? How the hell did that happen? SEGMENT 3: The Lakers need Kendrick Nunn, and they need him badly. He is, thankfully, one reason to be optimistic about the season. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
