LeBron James Shaves His Head, Lakers Postpone Pelinka/Ham Press Conference, Forwards Preview

Locked On Lakers - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Lakers - A podcast by Locked On Podcast Network, Andy and Brian Kamenetzky

Welcome, LeBron James! Tuesday started with a shock. James, who has seemingly clinged desperately to the remnants of an ever-shifting hairline (sometimes robust, sometimes uneven, sometimes unattended to) finally did the right thing and sent out a picture of his super clean, Bic'd up dome. Nary a hair left on the top portion of his head. Yes, he's one of us, now (meaning the hosts of this show). And in all seriousness, even a billionaire will feel the liberation that comes with finally letting go of the thing that was no more. And to the extent that James was putting any mental energy into trying make that mess of sad follicles look good on TV before every game, now that all goes into basketball! Win for Lakers fans, too! And a reminder: Alex Caruso shaved his head and the Lakers immediately won a title. Just saying. Meanwhile, Wednesday's scheduled pre-Media Day press conference with Rob Pelinka and Darvin Ham was rescheduled for Media Day (likely Monday), giving perhaps one final tease that there could be news Lakers fans want to see before camp opens next week. (That news, of course, being a trade of Russell Westbrook.) Likely that's not what it means, but after a summer of signs for a group of desperate fans, you can hardly help but wonder if Pelinka is just trying to troll people at this point. Finally, it took a while to preview all the guards and how they might be deployed. Forwards (of a non-star variety)? Doesn't take nearly as long. What might Juan Toscano-Anderson, Troy Brown and Wenyen Gabriel bring to the table? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Bald is beautiful for LeBron SEGMENT 2: Is Rob Pelinka just trolling fans now? SEGMENT 3: Previewing a (small) group of non-star forwards.
