Kevin Fiala Traded to the Kings. Red Wings Get Their Man.

Locked On NHL - Daily Podcast On The National Hockey League - A podcast by Locked On Podcast Network

Our first big move of the offseason is here in the form of a trade between the Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings. The Wild sent Kevin FIala to LA in exchange for defenseman Brock Faber and a 1st round pick in this years draft (no. 19). The Kings turned around and immediately signed Fiala to a seven year deal worth $55 million. With Minnesota knowing they would not have been able to sign Fiala to a long term deal, moving him was inevitable, and the Kings were the team Minnesota chose to deal with. The Tampa Bay Lightning might have just lost the Stanley Cup, but now they lost an assistant coach to the Detroit Red Wings. Steve Yzerman hired Derek Lalonde when Yzerman was a part of the Lightning organization. Now he has plucked him away from Tampa to be the new head coach of the Wings. Good move?
