The Florida Panthers Are Back In The Conference Final After Gus Forsling's GWG Late in Game 6!
Locked On Panthers - Daily Podcast On The Florida Panthers - A podcast by Locked On Podcast Network, Armando Velez
On today's edition of the Locked on FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in David Dwork(@DavidDwork) of The Hockey News and one-half of The Hockey Show from the LeBatard and Friends network to break down Florida's 2-1 regulation win in Boston where the Cats won their sixth straight road game at the TD Garden to clinch their spot in the Eastern Conference Final for the second straight season, third in franchise history. The Panthers controlled play after they went on the penalty kill not allowing a shot for over 10 minutes, where we saw signs of game 4 for Florida where Boston scored first, but Florida kept coming in waves offensively. Boston had unforced errors where they went to the box for another too many men on the ice, their seventh in the postseason, and were denied a power play after an embellishment call. In the third period, Bruins kept icing the puck after multiple missed passes on their breakouts due to the Panthers' pressure on the forecheck. Florida tied the game at one thanks to Anton Lundell finishing up some loose change in the slot, where later he went up to the second line and Bennett went to the third, due to having a natural center in Eetu Luostarinen who could take draws and Bennett still playing with a hand injury. Florida was controlling play in the third period where the Panthers quickly brought it up the nice where Matthew Tkachuk hit Gustav Forsling in stride, after gaining the zone, he drove to the net off a give-and-go, where Lundell's shot was originally saved by Jeremy Swayman, and Forsling's shot on the follow through gave Florida the lead with 1:33 left in the third. Panthers were able to close it out with a big shot block with the left palm of Aleksander Barkov to win the series in six to advance to face the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Final. The two discuss the Gustav Forsling effect, Maurice plugging in the right buttons with inserting Ryam Lomberg and Nick Cousins, along with their first impressions on the upcoming series as there's a lot of familiarity on both sides.
