E 107. Does your dog have TONS of giddyup?
Lone Duck’s Gun Dog Chronicles - A podcast by Bob Owens - Wednesdays

Tonight's episode is one of my favorites so don't miss this. First, I really enjoyed the opener and chatting about the brands we like... I got Bob off topic and he got all flustered. Next, we learn how Bob is doing with the adopting some of Oliver's training techniques (if you're wondering what those might be, check out the previous 2 episodes). We also talk about the most recent hunt test where a bunch of dogs passed their tests and we had a handful of lone duck dogs qualify for the Master Stashional out in Idaho. We also chat with Bob about his training day with the local retriever club and how YOU can get involved with some cool clubs near you. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose by meeting with a club to see if you'd be a good fit. Finally, and I think I'm going out of order here but that's ok, we hear a lot of frustration from Bob and this is the part I really enjoyed...hear me out on this. We get a lot of people who write in asking questions and we try to help problem solve and dissect the training scenario and see what sort of solutions we can create to help make the dog more confident and successful. At least once per day, someone says their dog is great with the collar on or they're great in training but once the collar comes off or once they're at the line for a test, the dog goes nuts. Well, this happens to everyone, even here at the Lone D and tonight, we hear all about it. Bob has been working hard with a few dogs who have soooo much drive that it's pretty tough to manage. Anyway, I liked the conversation because it's raw and straight shooting. This is how training dogs can be, it's hard. If your dog "is nuts and has so much drive they're tough to handle..." you aren't alone and cheers to you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
