E 161. Wingshooting, dogs & old shotguns
Lone Duck’s Gun Dog Chronicles - A podcast by Bob Owens - Wednesdays
Categories:
Tonight we sit down with Lars Jacob, a wingshooting coach, meticulous gunfitter and the type of guy who knows his way around the grouse woods. We begin tonight's show hearing about Lars' work coaching people to shoot effectively on the wing (check out his website here) and then dig into the types of habitat grouse and woodcock call home. Then we hear about how the shooting sports have evolved over time and today's shooter is much different than the past. We talk with Lars about the differences between shooting clays and real birds and finally we talk guns with Lars. It's always fun to speak with people who are experts in their field but it's rare you can speak with someone like Lars who I'd consider an expert in wingshooting, shotgun history, grouse and woodcock, bird hunting and more. Honestly, it was a treat to sit down and chat with Lars and we're grateful for his time on the show. If you're interested, I'd highly encourage you to check out his website and learn more.
