Birthing a Mother

I had a 30-hour labor with my firstborn that concluded in a c-section, several months of trauma and some physical agony to follow. I went for the big "VBAC" (Vaginal birth after c-section) with my second birth and now I have a lot to share about the process and what it really means to birth a baby...and a mother. I'm sitting down with the two birth doulas who helped me birth my second daughter Violet to discuss how we can better understand the meaning of birth and the importance of postpartum care for the modern day mama.
