Dr. Sofia Peeva is a board-certified anesthesiologist with expertise in airway management, anesthetic administration, and medication infusion and titration. While using ketamine extensively for anesthesia, she became interested in its use in mental health settings for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic pain. Dr. Peeva is a pioneer in adapting ketamine therapy for these conditions, and has seen positive results from her patients who receive ketamine therapy infusions and integrative psychotherapy. She is motivated to continue learning and researching this field to further improve this important and novel treatment. Dr. Christopher Fischer is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UC Davis Department of Psychiatry, and a triple board-certified Child, Adult, and Forensic Psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience treating treatment-resistant mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He became interested in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy due to the limitations of traditional oral anti-depressant medications, and after reviewing the research, he believes that ketamine therapy represents a significant breakthrough for treatment-resistant mental health conditions. Dr. Fischer conducts a comprehensive psychiatric consultation before recommending ketamine therapy and believes that successful treatment outcomes start with an accurate diagnosis and a collaborative treatment plan. He is committed to helping patients recover from mental health conditions and chronic pain.
