106: Is Imposter Syndrome Real?

Meredyth with a Why - A podcast by Meredyth Willits - Tuesdays

How often do you feel like you don’t deserve an opportunity that comes your way? A job that you worked hard for? When we lean so heavily in the facade of whatever role we play in life (parent, employee, student), and then we layer importance and ego on top of that—that’s when imposter syndrome rears its ugly head. In today’s episode, I’m talking about the importance of finding your value and self-worth within and not letting the outside world define you. I’m especially encouraging you to recognize your expansiveness and stop defining yourself by your degree, your job, how much money you have, etc.  If you let society’s expectations define you, you’re going to be stuck in the imposter syndrome loop and held back from your true self every single time. Your spirit is what defines you, not your human experience. Lean into your spirit. What’s in this episode: - What imposter syndrome is and how it manifests - How accepting the “good” that people see about us forces our ego to also accept the negative - Why you should find value, happiness, and self-worth in yourself instead of in the things that you do (e.g. your job) - The importance of recognizing and honoring what you want, and not what society expects of you For full show notes, resources, and links, head to: https://www.meredythwillits.com/podcast Get your copy of my book MINDSET MASTER MIND here: https://stan.store/MeredythWillits Join Meredyth’s Patreon here!
