Sven Fund

Perhaps more than anyone in the industry, Sven epitomizes the transition of scholarly publishing away from its traditional print roots and towards its online future. After starting his career in Bertelsmann and moving into Springer shortly after it was spun out under PE ownership in 2003, Sven went on to serve as the Chief Executive of De Gruyter, a scholarly book publisher with a history dating back more than 250 years. After spending the first 15 years of his career inside some of this industry’s most well-established publishing houses, Sven made the leap into the world of technology startups and has since gone on to become one of the most prolific entrepreneurs and angel investors in the scholarly industry.
