In MMOW, which we held and released mid-week out of respect for Blackout Tuesday included our raw reactions to the George Floyd tragedy. In this episode, we continue to support the Black Lives Matter movement, the protests, and the voices that are lobbying for social change. We begin by sharing some stories from the front lines. Actors, writers, producers, and executives from the industry that we cover - they have inspired us, they have endured serious dangers, and they have overcome those risks to speak out and protest for a better world. Though we do have some of our commentary in this show, our goal was to highlight what our heroes have said in response to this horrible tragedy and in their fight for justice. As we say in the episode, we look up to you, we stand with you, we salute you, and we thank you. Although we felt the need to use our platform to further this conversation, we realize that WE need to continue to educate ourselves in this process and further engage ourselves to help so many worthy causes mentioned in this show & beyond. But as we say throughout, we want to hear from you. Your feedback is essential, and we want to continue to learn how best to use our voices throughout this struggle. Please stay safe and encouraged. Yes, we will be resuming our coverage of the film world. Yes, we will continue to cover how Hollywood reacts and supports the BLM movement. And yes, we’ll try to do our jobs and provide you with some entertainment through these tough times. Next week’s movie reviews will include Shirley and Da 5 Bloods, and we’ll continue our ongoing series of Oscar Race Checkpoint, MMO Weekly, etc. But our sincere hope is that this activism holds and persists throughout the calendar to continue this fight for change. Again, we do want to hear your thoughts, even if they’re critical of us. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you might listen. We’re Mike, Mike, & Oscar, and we’re making awards season year round, without the stuffiness. Thanks for listening.
