795 Is Obedience Always Better than Sacrifice? (Ex. 22:20; 1 Sam. 15:22)

Whenever someone hears me talk about animal sacrifices (or reads something I’ve written), there’s almost always a few people who clap back with “Obedience is better than sacrifice!” Where do they get that from? Can that statement be substantiated from Holy Scripture?
