This decision follows a series of incidents involving overheating lithium batteries, including a Scoot flight fire in Taiwan and a Batik Air cabin smoke incident. With airlines like Thai Airways, AirAsia, and South Korean carriers implementing similar restrictions, this raises pressing questions.
