The Mulligan Brothers podcast sits to talk with Luke Stoltman. Stoltman the Scottish professional strongman, to discuss his future, his upbringing, and his passion for his sport. Born in 1984 Stoltman grew up in Invergordon among five siblings, at a young age he was an avid footballer, but once he was inspired by a picture of his grandfather carrying a log the size of his body, he focused more on weight training. At 16 he left school, following in his father’s footsteps working in the oil and gas industry, training to be a surveyor before taking his first offshore job at the young age of 18. Throughout his early twenties Luke’s training consisted of predominantly body building style workouts. He won his first contest in a local deadlift competition in 2011 at age 27. The win motivated him to participate in the highlands strongest man in 2012, he won. This is when his passion for the contest grew, going on to win five times at Scotland’s Strongest Man and once at Europe’s Strongest Man. He debuted at WSM in 2016. Three years later he committed full time training, leaving his job, and solely focusing on his strongman career, that year he successfully qualified for the final for the first time. Luke shares his amazing story, explaining what lessons he has taken along the way to help guide him towards his full potential.
