Celebrate Every Day - A podcast by Q1 Network

Welcome to February 23, 2023 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate a toast to toast and mixing up chili. A Toast to Toast On any given morning, a chill hangs in the air. You shuffle to the kitchen and give the fridge a stair. With one eye closed you grab a loaf of any random bread Fresh or stale, it matters not… there’s one thought in your head. It only takes two minutes or three at very most. To transform ordinary bread into the crispy toast. And as you watch the butter melt pleasingly away You raise a cup of coffee to the best start of the day. Happy National Toast Day! Ever have chili with cinnamon? If not, you’ve probably never been to Cincinnati and experienced their take on the dish. Cincinnati chili isn’t as thick as the traditional stuff and it’s usually served as a sauce on other foods. The most popular way to eat it is over spaghetti. And when ordering, there’s a system for doing so—called “ways.” If you know the lexicon, it’s easy. Two way means spaghetti topped with chili, which is the basic version. And if you order a five-way chili, you’ll get the same thing, but with the addition of beans, chopped onions, and cheese. Sounds weird, but if you’re in Cincinnati on National Chili Day, give it a whirl. It’s surprisingly good. I’m Anna Devere and I’m Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we Celebrate Every Day!
