Network Break 322: Juniper Mist-ifes 128 Technology; US Telcos Spend Big For 5G Spectrum

This week we discuss a slate of announcements from Juniper Networks including the incorporation of the 128 Technology SD-WAN routers into the Mist AI platform, as well as a new switch family and the integration of Juniper’s SRX with Mist. HPE acquires CloudPhysics, a SaaS company that helps organizations manage their on-prem and cloud spend; and US telcos spend a combined $81 billion to acquire spectrum that they will target for 5G rollouts. VMware announces version 4.0 of its Photon OS. SolarWinds announces Q4 results, but we’ll have to wait until Q1 and Q2 to get a real sense of the financial impact of the breach. VMware announced its Q4 and full year results for fiscal 2021, and the numbers look good. Nutanix also announced financial results, with flat revenues year over year. Last but not least, Firefox has announced a new privacy feature to limit data sharing among third-party cookies, but new research also shows ad companies playing games with CNAME cloaking to thwart privacy controls.
