The Big Gamble: What unlocking means for nursing

The Government is removing all COVID restrictions including masks and social distancing, just as cases and hospitalisations are rising steeply. How can an already overstretched NHS handle the inevitable influx of patients, and what will this extra burden mean for the nursing profession? Plus – unlike the professional titles of physician or psychiatrist, the title of “nurse” isn’t protected in law, meaning anyone can call themselves a nurse.
