It is the body's natural response to navigation away from homeostasis. He goes in depth about the different effects that can happen to the body when a change in nutrition or training takes place, and how to protect your body against it. Jason explains how even though we shouldn’t fear metabolic adaptation, we do need to be worried when certain effects don't show up. When your body has adapted to lower calorie ranges, you will need to periodize so that you don’t stay there forever or create metabolic issues.
