Blarney Castle is an imposing 15th century ruin a few miles outside the town of Cork and this is where “The Blarney Stone ” is situated. The stone itself is considered to be a powerful talisman and whoever kisses it, is endowed with eloquence for life. Holmes and Watson are enjoying a drink in the local hostelry when a gentleman by the name of Geoffrey Hankin introduces himself and his partner Michael Corcoran. An argument ensues between the partners and a bet is made, that Hankin dare not kiss the blarney stone.
