I’ve got music and a shoulder… As this brutal year comes to an end, I find myself wondering about what lies ahead. For months I’ve made conscious choices to focus my energy inward instead of spiralling down the toxic terrain around us. I’ve watched friends disappear into darkness through fear, anxiety, and depression. We’re struggling to hold on, find purpose, and even give ourselves a reason to try. I find myself laying on the floor staring at the ceiling searching for answers about what the future holds for me, my family, and those around me. Personally, I struggle with the meaning of “success”. What does it mean to be a successful artist, husband, father, son, friend….? Straight up, this shit sucks. This year sucked. I hate what it’s done to humanity. I despise what we’ve been doing to each other. I’m sick to think of the repercussions when this is all over. But… one day it will be over. As I sit here with my words I’m thinking about you. Yeah, you… I need you to know that if you’re struggling with thing, I’m here. I promise you, you’re not alone and you don’t need to struggle feeling that way. I don’t have the answers and I may not be able to make things better, but I can assure you with all my heart, you can at least have someone if you need someone. Don’t even hesitate. I will answer. This is what I’ve got right now. I’ve got music to help sooth the soul and help take you away for a few hours… and I’ve got a strong shoulder for you to lean on if you need one. Stay strong. Be there for one another. Be a pillar for those that need one. Be as positive as possible for yourself and for those around you.
