Full transparency… My home is not always filled with “Insta-perfect” happy smiles. Three girls living together creates plenty of drama - and we haven’t even hit the teenage years! But I’m learning that as the parent, I set the example of how to regulate and respond to emotions in a helpful way. How we respond to our children’s feelings has the potential to propagate anxiety and depression, or kindness and compassion. Today’s clip with Lael Stone nudges us to listen and care, reminding us that our parenting leaves imprints on our kids’ adult mental health. It’s about how we create a safe place for our children to feel, to process, and to learn. You can find the full clip here, and for more info about Lael Stone, visit her website. I'd love to know what you think, so join in on the conversation! Subscribe, leave a review, or follow PG-ish on Instagram (@pgishparenting), or you can always find me at www.pgishparenting.com.
