The Audacity of Self-Advocacy
Pivot & Thrive by Joy Ubani - A podcast by Joy

Within career development, relationships (friendships and romantic), self-advocacy is arguably the most important skill, or confidence hack, to master if you want your needs met. So often do we sit beyond our window of tolerance when our needs are not being met, and instead choose to cope with the discomfort that prohibits us from actualizing our full potential and thriving. Consider for a moment what would happen if we actively choose to be our own advocate and approach everything with audacity. In this episode, I reflect on my experiences within my job(s) where advocating was necessary. I am joined by my good friend, Nkechi, who is an Associate Director of Human Resources, and blogger/influencer over at @corporate_curly, where we discuss: identifying your needs; resources and support managers/directors should provide within a work place; and acknowledging quitting as a form of self-advocacy.
