Trip to the Farm with Dora the Explorer – Spanish Lesson for Kids

Piwi and Oli - A podcast by Jorge Olson

Interactive and fun Spanish lesson for kids. This “Trip to the Farm” video with Dora and her friend Boots teaches kids ten new words related to the farm in Spanish, specifically animals that you would find in a farm. It’s perfect for kids from three to five years of age. Parents can follow along and learn the words as well. The vocabulary of the videos is simple enough for kids to follow, even if they don’t speak Spanish at all or have never been exposed to any other language! This short six-minute video is ideal for kids to repeat and memorize the roughly ten new words introduced here. These are ten animals you would typically see in a farm. The video introduces ten farm animals focusing on the name, color of each animal and the sounds these animals make. It encourages kids to ask their parents for help making the animal sounds. It also briefly repeats the page from the “Trip to the Beach” as a reminder to the children. Why am I recording these videos? The coronavirus has forced us all to stay home. My cousin has a three-year-old son, Ronyn, and she asked our family to record themselves reading a book in Spanish. The videos were originally made for him so you will hear his name throughout all the videos. It’s important for her that her son be fully bilingual! It’s been a lot of fun for me and it keeps me busy and motivated. Apologies, but I am an amateur videographer. I’m trying my best!! Subscribe to our channel to get different and fun lessons in Spanish including numbers, animals, trips to the beach, farm, garden, library, circus and much more. At times we might have one or two videos in English if you recommend an important topic or lesson that needs to be delivered in English. Kids will eventually find our voices familiar and friendly. The idea is that they feel confident with Oli and with me and understand what we are doing in the videos. Once they do, kids can look forward to more Spanish lessons and see them as play time, not work time. We would love to hear from you. Leave us your ideas and comments. If your kids are progressing and having fun, we would love it if you share a video with us. You can post the link, send it to us, send us the link to your post or email us the video.
