95. Conversation with a Teen about Guarding Your Heart in Today's World, Pt 1

This is an episode about developing your  parenting perspective on romantic relationships for your kids, SLOWING DOWN THE PROCESS, pushing back against the culture's messages about dating and romance.  Our kids are bombarded with false messages constantly.  Parents need to guard their hearts AND EQUIP OUR KIDS TO TREASURE & GUARD THEIR OWN HEART. In episode 95, "Conversation with a Teen about Guarding Your Heart," you will listen to a conversation between my daughter Abby & me. It's a conversation about SLOWING DOWN the process of romance and dating. It's about WAITING until they’re a little older before getting caught up in that complex and careful type of relationship. And it’s not really just about WAITING a little longer, it’s about PREPARING for something that is valuable, and it's about BECOMING YOUR BEST, not just becoming who someone else is attracted to or that would gain the approval of a romantic interest.  In this episode, I was GOING to do book reviews on eight books with Abby. She had just read these books and she was going to give her opinion about them.  Well, before we got into the reviews, I asked her a question and that question took us on a conversation from the heart.  It was  very revealing.  This was recorded a year ago and was intended to publish a year ago, but God took me on a little journey of discovery and prayer about the topic of dating, romance, purity, and all the things related to these issues.  I'm ready to dive in now, after a year of prayer and research.  Here's the blog post that goes with this episode CLICK HERE (it will be live by noon on Monday).Earlier episodes that deal with this topic:Episode 22 - Are We Going to Teach Our Kids that Sex is Sacred?Episode 32 and Episode 33 - A Girl's Self-Worth, parts 1 & 2Support the showVisit Val's website: PracticallySpeakingMOM.comJoin Val's Facebook Group Intentional Mom, Strong FamilyFollow Val on Instagram and her Facebook Public Page Practically Speaking MOM To give a set amount each month click here.
