He received his MD from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University and did a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the Davies Medical Center in San Francisco, where he remains in practice. Dr. Buncke is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of several societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Buncke has published numerous articles related to a wide variety of plastic, hand and microsurgery topics.
