A native of the Gage Park community on the South Side of Chicago, Micaela is a high-impact coalition-builder and social entrepreneur. She has over ten years of experience in public policy, political strategy, business development and operations. Through her company, MAV Consulting, Micaela serves clients by performing external relations, enterprise sales and community impact development. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation where leads the organization’s charitable initiatives to support and mobilize the next generation of Latino leaders as well as manages the Caucus’ legislative agenda. Other clients have included a startup women’s leadership development company where she directly supported the CEO in the company’s first round of sales and a technology company where she developed a social impact plan to bridge the digital divide specifically on the West Side of Chicago. Micaela has served in a variety of leadership roles supporting senior-level executives and top government officials. She previously served as Chief of Staff in Cook County government where she analyzed a $5 billion budget and served as lead on legislation that positively impacted thousands of individuals and families in Illinois. Legislation drafted by Micaela has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business and the New York Times. She is a member of the Global Shapers World Economic Forum Chicago Chapter and previously served for five years on the board of directors for Mujeres Latinas En Accion, in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, and the National Diversity Advisory Council for the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. Micaela received her Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and Business Administration from DePaul University in Chicago and received the Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship from Carnegie Mellon University.
