Jack Garcia

Quite Franklin - A podcast by Rich Franklin - Wednesdays

At 9 years of age, Jack Garcia’s parents fled Castro’s communist regime in Cuba to find a new life in the United States. Though NOT Italian, Jack was able to convince the Gambino crime family of the American Mafia in New York that he was Italian. Regarded as one of the most successful under-cover FBI agents, his near 3-year stint as a mobster led to the arrest and conviction of 32 Gambino family members. With a half of a dozen simultaneous identities while working several overlapping cases, even his daughter wasn’t sure of his real name. Just days before becoming a “Made Man,” the bureau unexpectedly pulled him from the case. In this discussion, I spend a little time in mob school with Jack and earn my mob name.
